Hair Quality, Density & Texture Guide

How long does a hair system last?

It depends mostly on the base material and how you care for it. As a general guide: ultra-thin skin bases last about one to three months, lace about two to four months, standard skin/poly around four to six months, and monofilament four to six months, with thicker reinforced bases reaching the upper end. Daily wear, washing habits, adhesive choice, and climate all affect the real figure. Most wearers keep two or more units in rotation so one can rest and clean while the other is worn, which extends the life of both. Gentle handling, sulfate-free products, and careful removal make the biggest difference. For the full breakdown, see How long hair systems last and when to replace them.
