Avoid anything that breaks down adhesive or dries out the hair. That means sulfate shampoos, alcohol-heavy products, and harsh clarifying formulas used too often, all of which strip the hair and can loosen your bond. Keep heavy oils and oil-based conditioners away from the base and bonding area, since they interfere with adhesion. Skip high-heat styling tools on a regular basis, and never use acetone-based removers on a lace section. As a rule, choose gentle, sulfate-free, water-based products and apply conditioner to the mid-lengths and ends rather than the roots.
