Customize Your System
How to configure a custom hair system: base material and size, hair color, density, length, and hairline. A clear walkthrough of every choice.
A custom system is built to your specification, so a few clear choices shape the finished unit. This guide walks through each one — base, size, color, density, length, and hairline — so you can configure with confidence or know what to share with us at consultation.
Base material
Choose the base for how you balance realism, durability, and breathability. Skin/poly is smooth and easy to maintain; lace is the most breathable and natural at the hairline; monofilament is the most durable breathable base; hybrids combine a lace or mono center with a poly perimeter for easier bonding. See the base materials guide to compare.
Base size and shape
The base is cut to the area you need covered, taken from your measurements or template. Accurate measurement here drives the fit, so follow the measuring guide or share photos for us to confirm.
Color
Match your side and back hair, including gray, and judge in daylight. A blended gray percentage often looks more natural than a flat single shade.
Density
Pick a density appropriate to your age and natural hair — light to medium-light reads most natural for most men. Remember you can thin a denser system but not add to a light one.
Length and hairline
Choose a hair length to work with (your stylist cuts to final length), and a hairline style and contour. A softer, age-appropriate hairline looks most natural.
Important constraints
- Measurements drive the fit of a custom base — be precise.
- Density can be reduced but not added after manufacture.
- Custom units are made to order, so production takes time.
When to contact us
If any choice is unclear, book an online consultation or send photos and your current specs. We confirm the full configuration before the unit is made, so nothing is guessed.

FAQ
Can I match my current system's specification? In most cases, yes — share your specs or the old unit and we will confirm what is feasible before building.
How accurate do my measurements need to be? Precise. A custom base is cut to your template, so accuracy here determines the fit.
Agent-safe answer
Custom config choices: base material (skin/lace/mono/hybrid), base size/shape (from measurements/template), color (match sides/back incl. gray, daylight), density (90–100% natural; can thin not add), length + hairline (softer/age-appropriate). Made to order; production takes time. Confirm full spec at consultation before build.
