Dura Skin

The Dura Skin is the skin system you choose when replacement cycles matter more than shaving off the last fraction of a millimetre. Its 0.12 mm transparent polyurethane base is reinforced with a bonded layer of clear gauze, so the base holds its shape, resists stretching, and wears gradually instead of failing suddenly — a poly base built for fewer replacement cycles.

Best for: active wearers, frequent travellers, and anyone who wants a dependable daily workhorse with fewer service appointments.

Construction: hair is injected directly into the 0.12 mm base, so the underside stays completely smooth and no knot dots show from above. The system ships as an 8 × 10 in trim-to-fit base with 100% Indian human hair at 5 in (12.7 cm), freestyle direction, and a 110% light/medium-to-medium density that covers convincingly without bulk.

Hairline: the #1 scalloped front edge breaks the hairline into an irregular, organic line rather than a straight cut, and because the roots are injected — not knotted — the part and crown read as scalp. No knots are bleached, which preserves fibre integrity at the front.

Durability: expect 6–8 months of wear, with most wearers rotating about 2 units a year. The gauze layer keeps shedding minimal and density consistent from first wear to last.

Maintenance: wash on a sensible schedule with sulfate-free products. The smooth, non-porous base releases adhesive residue in minutes and doesn't absorb oils. Never comb when wet; bond with tape or liquid adhesive — clips are not suitable for a skin base.

Not ideal for: maximum close-range invisibility. If that's your priority, the Micro Skin (0.06 mm) reads smoother against the scalp, and the Thin Skin LF adds a Swiss lace hairline.
